Feds Funding
Got a great idea? Need help financing an event or project? You might be eligible for Feds funding – check the criteria below!
The Federation of Students provides several avenues of funding to help finance your initiatives. There are different committees to go to in order to apply for funding from the Feds, under the supervision of the Vice-President, Internal.
The IFC takes funding applications all year long. The committee is chaired by the VP-Internal and made up of four students elected by Feds Council every term. It awards money from one of two funds as reimbursements for expenses for student projects to UW undergraduate students. Please submit your application at least three weeks before your event/project date. The committee will make all efforts to arrive at a decision before the event where possible. (Read more...)
The Student Life Endowment Fund committee meets once each year in the Winter to disburse funds according to the following priorities:
- The improvement of accessibility on campus
- The improvement of safety on campus
- The improvement of existing lounge and study space
- The renovations of student services
The Arts Commission is the Feds way of supporting the creative arts on campus. Have any ideas to brighten the place up? hold an event? develop a sculpture? This is your place to apply to further the arts on campus, as broad as the Arts Commission will define it! This fund has $2000 this year. (Read more...)
The Feds is not your only potential funding source for your student project. In fact, we encourage finding multiple sources in order to have a greater likelihood of having your idea become a success.
- Your Student Society – socieites have funding and many socieites have endowment funds of their own
- Your Faculty – deans offices, student services staff or individual programs often support projects that are supported by the IFC
- Waterloo Public Interest Research Group (WPIRG)
- Corporate Sponsorship
